The Pumps N Solar Team
The Pumps N Solar team brings a wealth of local and
regional experience to the task of meeting your water equipment needs.
Co-proprietor Mark Huntley established Pumps N Solar with Tim
Sheridan in April 1996. Following early studies achieving a Certificate in
Agriculture (Queensland Agricultural College) and Associate Diploma in Rural
Techniques (Agricultural Mechanisation), Mark worked for 4 and a half
years with Southern Cross Pumping and Irrigation, initially at their
Charleville branch, and for the final 2 years, in Roma.
For 9 years, Mark was also the Roma-based South Queensland Area Manager
for Mono Pumps. Before beginning Pumps N Solar with Mark
Huntley, co-proprietor Tim Sheridan spent 5 years with Border Pumps
N Sprays in Goondiwindi, fabricating boomsprays, installing pumps and
sprinkling systems. Tim was based for a further 2 years in Biloela, as
assistant manager in the McCrackens Water Services regional
chain of pump and irrigation stores . Our
experienced and friendly team also includes:
Kim Edwards
Sales & Service
Kim is a Roma local with rural and property interests, and over 20 years
experience working in the rural industry. Much of this
experience was gained through the successful small business ventures he owned
and established, in areas of retail sales, wholesaling and property
development. He brings his knowledge of
irrigation, pump sales and repairs to his role in Sales and
Service, and has a keen interest in new technology. He is also the dedicated
father of three teenage boys.
Andrew Whyte
Sales & Service
Andrew (commonly known as Whytey) has a depth of experience in rural
industries, with a sound working knowledge of rural water applications for
intensive and extensive cattle production. He has over 20 years of experience
locally and on the Darling Downs in the feedlot industry, 12 of which saw him
in management roles, and 8 in the Department of Primary Industries in the post
weaning nutrition field. Whytey spends much of his spare time with his three
children, and as a member of the Roma Clay Target Club likes to fit in the odd
bit of clay target shooting.
Ross Tidey
Workshop & Field Mechanic
A qualified motor mechanic, Ross has over 22 years experience in the motor
industry, working throughout Southern Queensland. He has a depth of experience
in automotives, and his experience in the drilling, oil and gas industries
developed his expertise in small engines and hydraulics. To relax, Ross enjoys
doing carpentry work for friends and family, repairing computers and shooting.
Harold Frost
Storeman
Harold was born, bred and educated in Mildura,
Victoria. After undertaking a sheet metal work apprenticeship and hospitality
training Harold embarked on a working holiday around Australia. This trip
eventually landed him in Roma where for the last 13 ½ years Harold has been
the Manager of the Roma Bowls Club.
Harold's organisational skills and attention to
detail makes him a valuable member of the Pumps n Solar team. Today Harold
with his partner Robbyn enjoys home renovation, gardening and traveling.
Rhonda Hoffman
Office & Account Manager
With over 30 years experience in administration of a range of local businesses
and organisations, Rhonda brings a wealth of knowledge to Pumps N Solar to
help ensure the office runs smoothly. 8 years of this experience were spent as
a hotel proprietor, but her keen interest in administration has led her to
focus solely on this again in her new role. Rhonda spends much of her spare
time with her family and relaxes by having a bowl at the Roma Bowls Club from
time to time.
Jessica Storey
Sales
Jess moved to Roma from Toowoomba, bringing her experience
from previous work in the pumps and irrigation industry.
She has a special interest in household pressure pumps, fittings and sprinkler
systems.
Brett Carseldine
Storeman
Brett was born, bred and educated
at
Caboolture. Upon
finishing school, he installed water tanks in high rise buildings across
Australia, and then worked with stud cattle and in the feedlot industry. He
has lived in Roma for 4 years and enjoys leather craft and following horse
racing in his spare time.
William Hill
Workshop Manager
Will was born and raised in Roma, and has experience as a
pump technician and poly welder. He moved to Toowoomba to study business
management, then managed a retail store for 6 months, before moving into the
oil and gas industry for 2 years. During his time off he enjoys a round of
darts, playing basketball and socialising.
Bryce Sullivan

Bryce is a qualified mechanic and poly welder, and has
lived in Roma all his life. He worked in the automotive business for 6 years
before moving into the oil and gas industry for a year. On weekends he likes
to join in the action at the speedway and motocross.
